AR Tape Measure
Using Chrome? Choose Live Capture or Photo below to analyze a still image in Construction. Native AR measurement requires the separate AR Tape Test Android build. Use a physical tape when precision or safety matters.
Measure one rigid-object boundary to another. This is a camera-derived estimate, not a certified measurement.
Live Capture and Photo work without AR. Analyze a construction tool or material in Construction; a photo alone cannot provide reliable dimensions.
Review a still photo, then choose Analyze to send it to AI. Sign-in and Construction analysis limits apply. For video, only reviewed sample frames are sent; raw video and audio stay on your device.
Measurement help
Use bright light and a textured, stationary surface. Scan slowly, then hold still at each boundary. Move closer instead of zooming. Reflective, transparent, moving, and flexible surfaces can give unreliable estimates. Clothing should lie flat beside a known reference; use a physical tape when precision matters. One length does not identify an object's width, height, area or volume. The AR measurement itself does not upload camera frames. Photo analysis is a separate, explicit action.
Measurements stay in page memory until you leave or reset. Export is optional and contains coordinates and device details, but no camera frames or location. AR measurement and export do not call the AI API or use scan credits. The separate Photo and Live Capture analysis paths use Construction’s normal sign-in and analysis allowance.
