Second Sight A.I.

Privacy Policy

Effective September 6, 2026

Photo privacy in plain language
  • Your main scanner photos are private by default and are not given public URLs.
  • Creating a Second Sight A.I. share link publishes the generated scan summary and reuse ideas — it does not automatically publish the original private scan photo.
  • Community posts are public only when you intentionally submit a post. The Community feature does not automatically attach your private scan photos.
  • Nothing is posted to Community or handed to a social-sharing app until you use the relevant Post or Share control.

Second Sight A.I. helps people identify physical items, find reuse ideas, estimate resale value, compare marketplace information, organize spaces, understand original purposes, get disposal guidance, create parent-guided learning projects, discuss reuse projects in Community, and use optional Construction Site planning tools. This policy explains the information used to provide those features.

Information Second Sight A.I. may process

How information is used

Information is used to authenticate users, perform requested AI analysis, generate reuse, organization and resale guidance, personalize projects to the experience/tools/materials/preferences you provide, return local disposal guidance, save requested results, operate Community and feedback features, enforce scan limits and subscriptions, prevent abuse, diagnose errors, measure product performance, prioritize product/content improvements, and support account or privacy requests.

AI processing and private scan images

For the main reuse scanner, the photo is uploaded to an account-scoped private Supabase Storage bucket before AI analysis. The object is not given a public URL. The server reads it using the signed-in account and sends the image content to the server-side AI service needed to perform the requested analysis. Second Sight A.I. records the resulting scan, project ideas, safety information, and AI-job diagnostics.

Private scan images can be viewed from your scan history through short-lived signed links generated only after authentication. You can delete an individual scan from the history page; Second Sight A.I. then removes its private image and database record. Account deletion also removes private scan images before deleting the account when possible.

Sharing scan results and social sharing

When you intentionally create a share link, Second Sight A.I. creates a shareable version of the generated scan result containing the identified object, recognition confidence, condition/material notes, and generated reuse ideas. The private original scan image is not included in that shared result. A share link can be forwarded outside Second Sight A.I. and should be treated as public while it remains active.

If you use your device's native sharing feature, the operating system may offer external apps such as messaging or social-media services. Once you choose an external service, that service's own privacy practices apply to the information you send.

Community and public user-generated content

Community posts and replies are public when you intentionally publish them. Other users may read or share that public text. Second Sight A.I. currently keeps Community posting separate from private scanner-photo storage so a Community post does not automatically expose a private scan image. Do not include personal contact information, confidential workplace information, precise private-location details, or personal information about children in a Community post.

Signed-in users may report Community content for moderation review. Reports are used to investigate misuse, safety concerns, spam, or other violations.

Feedback and improvement signals

Feedback can be categorized as usability, bug, feature, safety, privacy, content, or other. Second Sight A.I. may use these categories together with app-usage signals to identify repeated problems, prioritize high-impact fixes, and decide which project or safety content needs review. Feedback submitted through the feedback form is private by default and is only shown on the public feedback board after intentional review/publication.

Marketplace comparison

For the Resale & Value Scanner, Second Sight A.I. may create a marketplace search from the AI-identified item name and details you supplied. When live marketplace comparison is enabled, those search terms may be sent to eBay’s API to retrieve current active listings and asking prices. The app distinguishes active asking prices from completed-sale information and does not represent an active listing price as a verified sale price. If you open a marketplace or sold-results link, you leave Second Sight A.I. and the marketplace’s own privacy practices apply.

Service providers

Second Sight A.I. uses service providers to operate the app, including Supabase for authentication, database and private file storage; Vercel for hosting, analytics and AI Gateway; supported AI model providers routed through Vercel AI Gateway for requested analysis; Stripe for web payment processing; and eBay for live marketplace comparison when that feature is enabled. These providers process information under their own terms and security practices as necessary to provide their services.

Children and parent-guided activities

ReUse Kids is designed as a parent, guardian, or educator planning feature. Adults choose the child age range and prepare or supervise activities. Second Sight A.I. is not intended to create child accounts or intentionally collect personal information directly from children. Adults should not submit a child’s personal information or identifiable photo to the app or Community.

Data retention and deletion

Account-associated app data and private scan images are retained while needed to provide the service or until you delete the scan or account, subject to legitimate security, fraud-prevention, moderation, tax, accounting, or legal retention requirements. Payment processors may retain transaction records as required by law or their policies.

You can review and delete saved scans from the private scan-history page. You can permanently delete your Second Sight A.I. account and associated app data through the account-deletion page. A web request option is also available if you cannot access your account.

Security

Second Sight A.I. uses HTTPS in transit, authenticated access controls, database row-level security, account-scoped private object storage, short-lived signed image links, server-side payment processing, durable AI-job tracking, restricted server-side AI and marketplace credentials, and access controls around Community posting/reporting. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
